"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."  -Abraham Lincoln Abe said it best. People are more important than money. Let's celebrate working people tonight on the Heart and Soul Radio Program from 6-9 PM PST on Blue Mountain Radio 90.7 and 103.7 FM or stream from  www.kqbm.org.  Songs and stories about...

I had a great time at Pride in the Park last Saturday in Murphys. I was very inspired by the words of high school student, Raen Kuykendall when she talked about acceptance, urging allies of LBGT youth to know you won't understand everything about them but they need your love and acceptance anyway. It will be the Acceptance Edition of the Heart and Soul Radio Program on Blue Mountain Radio- KQBM 90.7 and 103.7 FM or stream from  www.kqbm.org.  Music, stories and a visit from Raen - you want to...

The Queen of Soul has left the building. I rarely feel emotional about the death of a celebrity but this one got me. The world is a colder place without her voice and all she gave us. I have to go to the great philosopher Dr. Suess - Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. We were all blessed to be on the planet at the same time as Aretha Franklin. We'll take a look at Mental Health through music and stories tonight on the Heart and Soul Radio Program from 6-9 PM PST on Blue Mountain Radio - KQBM 90.7 and 103.7 FM or stream from  www.kqbm.org.  Robin Williams said "I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. Can we find it in our heart to see people with more compassion?...

May 1 is celebrated around the world as International Worker's Day. It started as a way to commemorate the May 4 Haymarket Affair - workers were killed for striking and demanding an 8 hour work day in Chicago in 1886- and is now a national holiday around the world to celebrate the working class. May Day is also an ancient spring festival day - May Pole dances, music, singing and all around merriment. So tonight on the Heart and Soul Radio program I'll start the May Day celebrating. I've been hearing the word revolution a lot lately- from Bernie to President-elect Trump our politicians say they want a revolution. Fidel Castro took down a US backed regime in Cuba with a handful of men, the upstart colonies pulled off a big upset when they won the US revolution to give birth to a new nation and I have a feeling the Japanese who were attacking Pearl Harbor 75 years ago felt they were part of a revolution too.
